College life is inexistent, all you will be doing is attending classes and writing exams and mind you there are NO EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. You'll be threatened and kept under control and played around with your attendance as a means. Horrible infrastructure with mud ridden roads and open gutters, tiny classrooms for a class of 60. You have to climb 8 floors in few blocks at rush hours as most of the lifts won't function. Hostel is the filthiest hostel probably i have ever been in, and i would urge you to rent a room outside, if you ever choose this college, which i strongly recommend not to, rather than staying in filth with rules meant for prisoners instead of students. Faculty is average and if you are lucky you'll get someone good. IF YOU HAVE OPTIONS PLEASE CONSIDER THEM. Invest your hard earned money anywhere but in this college. Hope you are not too late before you come across this review

This college is a perfect one-time investment. It is a perfect place not only to get a degree but also to learn actually. It has well equipped laboratories, two separate libraries for B.tech and MBA and also two separate digital libraries. To improve your experience in corporate world it provides you with placement and training classes and also with guest lectures from senior officials of top-ranked companies. It's only drawback is that you won't be able to enjoy college life here as the college gives discipline most priority and hence as a lot of unnecessary rules. Speaking of placements, the university provides 100% placement to the eligible students. Professors here are exceptionally talented as many of them have published a number of journals in international papers and presented them in conferences. The student crowd here is also talented. Each is having their own special ability other than academics. I say that this college is affordable because even it is having a high fees but as I said that it is one-time investment only because you will be able to get this money back in a couple of years in form of your salary.

Firstly I will talk about the infrastructure of the college, Its not that good as SRM Kattankulathur campus .our campus is very small jst about 25 acres but because this small campus all the fest are held in srm main campus. so college life is not that good. Now main thing there are many rules in this campus as boys have to be in formals only and girls should wear suit salwar. While in other campus students can wear any thing. Now I will talk about placement so you will be amazed to read that most of the students placed are from srm Ramapuram campus only. Faculty is also very helpful. Hostel life awesome. .......Overall its good because at last we all are here for placement only. So if you are looking for this campus ao its good

Certainly, there is a lag in the infrastructure, hostel facilities, good faculty lectures, etc. However, Ramapuram campus every time produces better pass percentages on compared with all the sister campuses. Though there are no such restrictions on attending any events occurring on the main campus but it needs to be done at the student's own expenses.

The campus is not really big and definitely nothing compared to the SRM’s Kattankulathur campus. CS& IT labs are good, all equipment available and that too in working condition, but the same isn’t true for the core labs. There are many obsolete non-functional machines. Seeing the SRM main campus, you do at least expect the campus to be Wi-Fi enabled but all you get is the disappointment. Hostel facilities are available but many don’t avail it. Students find hostel fees to be a bit on the expensive side and they prefer staying off campus. Although Ramapuram is situated within the city limits of Chennai, reaching there is a difficult task. The road to the campus is very bad and during the monsoons, it gets even worse. Students do complain about the stink that occasionally comes from the dumping ground nearby. To sum up the location, it is located in the city but not really accessible. The faculty here isn’t exceptional. There are a few experienced professors and many fresh teachers. The fresher faculties are not very adept at their subjects. Another problem that the students face is that the teachers here keep changing; there are very few teachers who have stayed with the college for a long duration. Students are expected to maintain a minimum of 75%, defaulting which they need to attend extra lectures during the study break; which will also make you poorer by Rs 10,000, as that’s the fees to attend these lectures. Students need not wear hard-core formals, a bit of casual dressing is allowed. It is quite liberal in the sense that students are allowed to wear collared t-shirts but wearing shoes is a must in order to avail for the liberty from formals. The college is very strict with vehicle laws. Students aren't allowed to ride triple on a bike. Also, no vehicle should be brought inside or parked inside the campus. Breaking any of the law attracts a penalty. SRM conducts many fests and events which include symposiums, cultural festivals and Sports meet. Every department holds its own symposium which sees decent participation including participation from the other colleges too. Cultural festival pulls a good number of crowds from many colleges. In the past, there have been major names associated with the fest. One of the years Strings had performed here. The placements happen at the main (Kattankulathur) campus along with the SRM University, Kattankulathur students. There are companies visiting Ramapuram campus also independently. Some of the major recruiters are TCS, Wipro, and Accenture. Other companies such as ATOS, L&T Infotech, and Mahindra Satyam also recruited a few. Some students also opted to teach at 'Teach for India', an NGO. Placements, cosmopolitan crowd, and freedom are the only points that go in favour of SRM Ramapuram. All in all, it should be an option to be considered if you don’t make it to the top or even average Anna University colleges. Also SRM, Kattankulathur campus should be a higher preferred choice if selecting SRM.

This college is lagging good infrastructure, hostel facilities and college life. However, study wises its the best (During my time) out of all the campuses of SRM University, Chennai. Though one has no restrictions as far as the attending the workshops or any events is concerned in the main campus but its the distance which they need to cover along with the "on duty permission" from the Head Of The respective Departments.

I'm very pleased to be part of SRM UNIVERSITY,Campus is not as good as KATTANKULATHUR, hostel also very poor, Placements are also good but prefer joining the SRM UNIVERSITY, KATTANKULATHUR because you can't expect placements as like KATTANKULATHUR campus, due to some local in ramapuram campus, some of the future of the students are getting ruined. Please don't join in this campus. some of the staff of CSE are really cunning as they target some students and don't make them give placements. If you feel that they targeted you , there is No doubt that you will not get placements. They will keep you on the black list. You can't understand what the future of the students is. Mam one suggestion from my side, pls don't play your local cheap tricks and don't target the students. It really hurts when I think of placements.

As part of SRM University, one would expect a huge infrastructure which would be at par with the international campus at Katankulathur. However, the campus in Ramapuram is a far cry from those standards. While, students from the Ramapuram campus are entitled to all the facilities at Katankulathur, the commute discourages most students from regularly reaping that benefit. Academics wise, the quality of teaching and the level of exposure is the same across both campuses.

Campus: Be prepared to be utterly disappointed. If you came here from counselling, I bet you'd think this campus would be an at least a fraction of what the KTR campus is. But no, it's not. The campus is built in a gaon, basically, so don't expect to find any decent shops or restaurants nearby. The campus is shared by Easwari Engineering College, so you'll be surrounded by a really bad crowd. The classes are small and cramped, no AC, as they assure you in their descriptions. The auditorium is the only place that has AC. Hostel: I got placed into the Chellammal girls' hostel, and it was the worst thing I've experienced in my life. I chose the attached bathroom room. The room was very small but had to be occupied by 4 girls. The plaster was falling off the walls, and the cement inside was visible. The walls had nasty stains on them and looks like they hadn't been painted in years. They provide you with NOTHING. You get a creaky metal cot, a rusty metal desk, as small as those in school (and 100% likely to give you tetanus) which had no drawers or cupboards. They don't even give you a proper cupboard. The room has cement squares built on one wall, and that's all the storage you get, shared between 4 girls, with no way to lock and safeguard your stuff. The washroom is incredibly small and had a broken Indian seat, and a small dirty sink, and 1 tap (IDK where we're supposed to stand to bathe or even keep a bucket). The laundry service is lousy, and you'd be expected to wash your own clothes (IDK where, because as I said, the bathrooms are too small) and there's no place to hang em. The room had just 1 plug point. We went to talk to the administration, and they were clueless. They're taking in students by the buttload, and stuffing them in rooms like cattle. They even put out beds in the TV room. I can't say about the food cuz I never tried it, but I heard it's as bad as everything else. The timings are extremely strict, and girls aren't allowed to leave the hostel after 6:30. (Keep in mind college ends at around 4) I heard that the boy's hostel is much better. At least they get cupboards. And even have AC rooms available. I can't say much about the faculty and education, but almost every senior that I met was dismayed at the awful attitude of the teachers. They regret their choice of choosing this campus. Most 2nd year move out of the hostels, and take PGs. I withdrew myself from the college on the next day itself, and every faculty member that I talked to agreed with my problems. If you didn't score enough in the SRMJEE to get into the main campus, I'd suggest you pick a different subject and go to the main branch, or choose a different college entirely, and I promise you, you will not regret your decision

If you want to compare this college with other colleges then you will be highly disappointed by thinking about it itself, but if you want to use SRM brand name, then you have to compromise. It's simple. So the choice is yours. Because engineering is all about only doing and giving the shit my friend.

Good Placements with numerous opportunities. Good infrastructure with adequate labs. Very poor management. No proper bus arrangement for day scholars. No water purifier inside the college. The university doesn't own any auditorium of its own. Good and concerned faculties. Just manageable hostel. Bad food. Bad drinking water. Bad water quality. Too high fees.

The college life at srm Ramapuram is good. In our college, we learn discipline which is important for success in career. The infrastructure of college provides us with all required facilities such as computer labs, library, digital library, labs, basketball court etc. The faculty is excellent, they help us in every problem during and after college too. The hostels are well maintained and provide all essential requirements.

College campus is not so eye catching. Over all ambiance is good. Campus is in jst less than 100 acres. Faculty behavior toward north Indian students are worse than accepted. Hostel facilities are pathetic, food quality at mess is worst. But only thing is campus life and placements are superb, no doubt you will be placed in any company unless you are eligible.

SRM Ramapuram - Not satisfied

I joined ramapuram campus (SRM University) expecting better focus on education and at a comparatively lesser fee than main campus. But what followed was disappointing. The management of ramapuram is done by son-in-law of chairman and it runs by totally different set of rules. 1) They attracted admissions by reducing fee but later forced to pay extra one lakh citing marks as cut off after first year (did not they knew the marks in first year and why only in second yr. They made few of us run from pillar to post denying us hall tickets before exams until we paid the fee. 2) Not a good place to educate yourself and learn as people join here mainly to get a degree and politically influenced people influence the management and puppet like staffs for their advantage. They don't teach u a word after first semester is over. 3) Placement: Internships are invited from unknown unverified sources and some even turn out to be fake in the end to disappointment of students who toil as intern and end up frustrated with no credits or stipend for their work. They invite large number of companies which are mediocre and not worth in a deemed university only to boost their number count of students placed through campus. The students in main campus are given more preference in placements and trainings. 4) Enjoyment or fun? Formals are made compulsory by most departments. Timing is 8-3.45 p.m compared to 9-3in main campus. the lunch hour is not sufficient with heavy crowd in canteen. There is a funny guy in boots who is employed to scare away guys waiting inside campus or roaming around. coming 5 mins late to college means u lose attendance or write letter to hod. or ID card being taken if u re a PG. Cultural happen in a small stage like in schools and with too many rules in place anyone would wish such a thing didn't exist. 5) Project: they reduced the project duration from three months to two and having 5 reviews it becomes practically impossible to complete an original project. The ones getting project from a center rolling out bucks is favored by this stupid system. 6) Facilities: Hostel- not so good.. strict timings which punish people if returning late at night. worst food. Parking is a make shift ground which makes u experience hell during rainy days. On the whole. ?Not worth the money.
