Dear student,

So the pattern being followed here is +1, x3 then again adding 1 and then multiplying 3 ,

as you may observe that it is as follows:

  • 1=first number
  • 2=1+ 1
  • 6=2x 3
  • 7=6+ 1
  • 21=7x 3

and so on... thus next number will be 201.

Hope this helps.

According to the pattern the next number will be 201. And the series will be like this 201 and 202. There is a common pattern if we look carefully in the numbers. First of all you will observe that there are consecutive numbers 1 and 2, 6 and 7,  21 and 22 and so on. Then after writing 1 and 2, 3 is multiplied with two and then we will get 6.

The same process is followed every time like after writing 6 and 7 we multiply 3 by 7 so the answer we will get is 21. And then we will write 21 and 22 and we will multiply 3 by 22 and then we will get 66. After writing 66 and 67 we will multiply 67 by 3 and then we will get 201 and the series will be 201 and 202.
