Yes, Punjab conducts the NMMS (National Means cum Merit Scholarship) exam for Class 8 students.

The registration usually starts in June on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Students studying in Class 8 in government or aided schools with at least 55% marks in Class 7 (50% for SC/ST) and whose family income is below Rs. 3.5 lakh per year can apply.

Selected students get Rs. 12,000 per year from Class 9 to 12. The exam is usually held in January.
