Yes, 98 percentile is a decent percentile score. Considering the previous year qualifying cut off you may qualify in JEE Main if you have a score of 98 percentile. Here is the qualifying cut off percentile in 2020 for JEE Main category-wise

• EWS:70.2435518
• SC:50.1760245
• ST:39.0696101

The expected cut off percentile is as follows for JEE Main 2021

• General: 90-95
• OBC-NCL/EWS: 70-75
• SC: 50-55
• ST: 40-45
• PWD: 1-2

Cut off depends on number of candidates qualified, difficulty level of examination, number of seats available, previous year cut off etc. It may slightly increase or decrease.
