Hi aspirant,

on inserting a dielectric slab  in a charged capacitor with batteery disconnected, capacitance increases by k times, where k is dielectric constant. Value of potential difference reduces to V/k, where V is potential difference before inserting the slab and k is dielectric constant. Also the electric field increases by k times.
