The rays from the distant star may be considered to be parallel rays. Note that parallel rays converge at the focal point.

(1/u -1/v = 1/f … For a very high value of u, 1/u is negligible, especially given that v =8m is a finite value)

Radius of curvature = 2.f = 16m
