Correct Answer: 3.33%
Solution : The cost price of each pair of spectacles is Rs. 4,000. The total cost price for three spectacles is Rs. 4,000 × 3 = Rs. 12,000 The selling price of the first spectacles is Rs. 4,000 + 30% of Rs. 4,000 = Rs. 4,000 + Rs. 1,200 = Rs. 5,200 The selling price of the second spectacles is Rs. 4,000 – 10% of Rs. 4,000 = Rs. 4,000 – Rs. 400 = Rs. 3,600 The selling price of the third spectacles is Rs. 4,000 – 10% of Rs. 4,000 = Rs. 4,000 – Rs. 400 = Rs. 3,600 So, the total selling price for three spectacles is Rs. 5,200 + Rs. 3,600 + Rs. 3,600 = Rs. 12,400 Therefore, the total profit earned in the whole transaction is Rs. 12,400 – Rs. 12,000 = Rs. 400 The total percentage of profit earned in the whole transaction = $\frac{400}{ 12000}$ × 100 = 3.33% Hence, the correct answer is 3.33%.
