If you are interested in engineering  and want  to do job in government or private sector then you should directly go to BE or B.Tech not after doing diploma and if you are interested in pure science then you should do B.sc and for further studies Msc.

Go for diploma only if you get a reputed government college. If you want to pursue engineering then try to get government engineering colleges.
