After passing out your 12th you have varies options to choose in you graduation. As you have mentioned you want to go for UPSC examination you better Choose BA course. That will be a best course to start your preparation. Other courses in graduation will not help you in any way for preparing UPSC. Once you get into 2nd or 3rd year you better go for coaching classes. Self study won't help to crack UPSC examination
