Al-Kabir Polytechnic is one of the first private technical institute of Jharkhand, India established on 1990. It is recognised by State Board of technical Education, Jharkhand and Approved by AICTE Government of India. The institute is run by Kabir Welfare Trust.

The college provides three years of full-time diploma programs in engineering in various streams including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Automobile Engineering.

The college campus is spread over an area of ten acres with all the modern facilities including classrooms, library, laboratory, drawing halls and workshop.
