 If a student dont have IT at 12 then to utilise the valuable time before admission they can take up any basic language by taking up a video course on youtube and try to master the syntax, approach to solve some basic problems, algorithms( DATA STRUCTURE).

I hope that will be enough for the time being and utilise the time in hand to ones own advantage.
