Established in 2004, Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM) is founded by Padma Shri awardee Dr. Bala V Balachandran, Professor Emeritus of Accounting Information & Management at the Kellogg School of Management. Currently, it has two campuses in Chennai and Gurgaon. The institute offers full-time programmes in management, namely PGDM, PGPM, PGXPM, PGPM Flex, etc. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It has also received accreditation by the AMBA (Association of MBAs), UK, SAARC recognized SAQS; and NBA for its varied postgraduate programmes. The institute is also associated with the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC), HKUST Business School, Universite De Bordeaux, BAUER College of Business, University of Houston, BABSON and IIT Stuart School of Business.

Great lakes has decent placement figures for all of its full time courses. Ours, pgpm, is the flagship course at great lakes. Students were offered roles of business consulting, tech consulting, product manager, BSFI, also in analytics wing as data scientists etc. Companies like ab InBev, Accenture strategy, amazon, EY, Gartner, society general, ADP, ZS associate came for recruitment.

Average compensation offered for our batch of 2014-2015 was 12.02 lakhs per annum and median was 11.50 lakhs per annum. One thing though is packages vary according to relevant work experience.

Infrastructure: Sports facilities are good because it is students driven. Infrastructure is outstanding and was well maintained. Students are given Individual rooms with all the facilities. Also there are dual sharing rooms in the facility if interested can opt. Sodexo was taking care of food facilities in hostel and were maintained with multiple varieties of food items. Also 24/7 food will be available.

Faculty: Teachers are so helpful, well qualified & knowledgeable. The curriculum is pretty much relevant and allows students to be business-ready. Teachers are humble and very helpful. Also, they encourage and guide us to attain our goals. Not just permanent faculty but guest faculty members are also good. Faculty members are very well-qualified, with around 10 years of experience in their field job. Visiting faculty members who are part of a company also visit the campus to provide the latest knowledge and trend happening around. The course curriculum is really prevalent, as faculty try their best to provide the latest knowledge available in the market.
