In December 2018 the government has approved and assigned funds for the AIIMS in Madurai, and a foundation stone was set in January 2019. Only the foundation stone has been set and it'd take around 3-4 years for the institution to start. So no, there is no AIIMS in Madurai for now and there are no seats of course.
