Salary package for any course depends on the college/university/institution from which you are pursuing mechanical engineering and how do you perform in academics, co-curricular activities, placement opportunities offered by the college etc. But , generally the starting package for most of colleges is around 5-6 lakhs per annum and highest may go upto 30-40 lakhs for extraordinary students. Some of the top recruiters for mechanical engineering students are GOOGLE, Microsoft, mahindra, TATA steel, hisar haryana, Ashok leyland, bajaj automobiles, reliance power etc.

So, the highest package offered in mechanical engineering was above 30LPA to non core, while in core it was around 15LPA. Where has the lowest package offered was around 6 LPA.
