The placements for both the courses in these institutes have been similar over these years. For bit durg a cse student got highest salary of 12.7 loa while the average has been 6-7lpa.
B.e in Biotechnology fetched a package ranging from 4 -10lpa. Nearly 80% of the biotech batch got placed on campus. The highest package was offered by Future first (analyst role)10lpa while the lowest being Infosys 4 LPA.
I would advice you to go for thapar university just for a better faculty and alumni this institute has boasted off for many years.You can even apply for a change of branch after an year .Eventually it's all your call and you are free to chose any course which is more of your liking.
