First thing first,be acquainted with the syllabus,I'm providing you details about common sections in most banking exams such as that of SBI, IBPS, and insurance exams, things are different in case of NABARD and RBI.

Starting with Quantitative Aptitude, you can refer any of the following books;

Quantitative Aptitude by R.S Agarwal/Fast Track Arithmatic by Arihant Publications are for building basic concepts,for higher level questions you can refer Sarvesh Verma's Quantum CAT or there's also a book by Arun Sharma especially in the mains exam for banking where the Quant questions are of pretty high level, if you go through these books,you'll be well prepared.


For Reasoning, you can refer A Modern Approach to Reasoning by R.S Agarwal or Analytical Reasoning by M K Pandey,

For English, refer Wren and Martin Grammar Book to build the basic concepts of Subject-Verb Agreements, Nouns, Adverbs, Tenses etc and Word Power Made Easy is a great book for Vocabulary, you can follow Objective General English by SP Bakshi for practicing.

For General and Banking Awareness, start with reading newspaper on a daily basis,this is the best way to deal with current affairs so that you don't have to mug up everything at once at the last minute, read The Hindu especially editorial part, in the past few years especially for RCs many passages have been taken directly from here, also include one business newspaper such as The Economist to be aware of economic and business news. You can refer Pratiyogita Darpan as well that a good book.

There are many sites in Internet exclusively dedicated to banking preparation, so do go through their site, once you build your basic concepts,there are many mock paper available, so so solve them to evaluate your progress.

You also have to do test series before appearing for any of these exams,banking exams are all about speed and accuracy.
