Hello Sanjana,

CH3Cl in the presence of Anhydrous AlCl3 acts as alkylation agent and introduces an alkyl group.

Benzene reacts with CH3COCl in the presence of AlCl3 to give C6H5COCH3. This reaction is called Friedel - Crafts Acylation of Benzene.
