iit jam is mainly for b.sc students who want to pursue their msc from iits. however due to its popularity b,tech students also applied in it. but the main question is that which subject you should apply and if you have full filled the requirement criteria then only you can apply. for example if you want to apply in msc mathematics, but as you have studied math in engineering prospect, and the syllabus is really different in bsc mathematics and engineering mathematics.
