Calculate the angle of incidence of light ray incident on surface of a plastic slab of refractive index root over 3 , if the angle of refraction is 30 degree.

Hello,

Given that,

Angle of refraction = 30 degrees = r

Refractive Index = √ 3

Let, Angle of Incidence = i

We know that,

Refractive index = sin i / sin r

So, √ 3 = sin i / sin 30

So, √ 3 = sin i / ( 1 / 2)

So, sin i = √ 3 / 2

So, i = 60 degrees

Hence, angle of incidence is 60 degrees
