Electric Engineer does not has much study related to computer software or hardware but if you have keen interest into programming and coding, then you can learn the same from yourself and then you can mention the same during your interviews and then you might have a chance of working for that field depending upon the company's demands and your skillset.

For example : Google hires engineers in their company without a degree even , and also there is secret recruitment process where Google hires you from the total search history,if your search history has more programming base .
