Hello,

In the Chapter Mechanical Properties of Solids in Class XI NCERT Physics you would learn about the Various properties that solids have such as elastic behaviour of solids, stress and strain, various types of strain, stress-strain curve, Hooke’s law and elastic moduli.

---- Mechanical Properties of Solids include -

• Elasticity

• Plasticity

• Ductility

• Strength

------- As such there isn't any pre-requisite knowledge that would be required to study the topics in this chapter as most of the topics in this chapter you would study for the first time.

I hope you find the answer helpful.

Thank you.
