Hi,

Yes, you can do GNM course being a student of arts.

Nursing is generally considered to be a professional course meant for Science stream (Biology ) students. But there are nursing courses available in India, which can be pursued after completing 12th Arts/Commerce stream schooling too!

Nursing is a job oriented medical course. Healthcare sector is growing at a rapid pace. With this growth, the demand for healthcare professionals is also on the rise! Nurses are an integral part of healthcare sector. There is a huge demand for qualified registered nurses in India and abroad.

After 12th Commerce or Arts stream schooling, students are eligible to pursue the following two diploma courses

  • GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery)
  • ANM (Auxiliary Nursing ang Midwifery)

There exist many institutes in India (recognized by the Indian Nursing Council), which accept Arts/Commerce stream students to pursue the above mentioned courses.
