Yeah! For SSC JE examination, the students who have done the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering are eligible for the job of Junior Engineer in different departments of central government.

Also you are eligible for the RRB JE examination as well.

The eligibility criteria of ssc je is given below.

Candidates should have B.E/B. Tech. Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university to be eligible for the SSC JE exam. ... SSC JE exam is held for the fields of Junior Engineer in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering branches.
