Yes of course. Even JEE-Main is an entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency especially for admission to engineering institutions of India like NITs/IIITs/GFTIs and other private engineering institutions.

If you have good score in JEE-Main then you can take admission in top engineering institutions like NITs. There are some other eligibility criterias which differs from college to college, and you have to fulfil that too to get admission in the college.
