Sathvika, the actual cutoffs change every year and NITs being one of the top institutes for engineering has higher level of competition. Now if you are from general category, then getting a seat in top branches like CSE, ECE in NITs like Trichy, Warangal , Surathkal, Nagpur, Rourkela etc is quite difficult. These are among the top NITs. So you need to score at least 99 percentile in order to secure a seat in top NITs. With 150 marks, you may get North East NITs or Srinagar.

It depends on your rank. Rank is made based on many factor and most important factor is number of candidates appeared. Rank list for general category and Reservation category is effected by many factors.

if you have rank below 1-2 lakh then you can get admission into low ranked NIT campus. for top NIT campus, you have to secure rank below 20k-30k.

so , if you want to study at NIT campus then try to get 75%-80% of the total score. give your best and practice well.
