75% marks (65% for SC/ST students) in the qualifying examination or must be in top 20 percentile in class 12th.

Dear Akash, As per eligibility criteria from official notification by CBSE:-

1. Candidate from General category must be having an aggregate of 75% with all 5 subjects appeared or should be in top20 percentile from respective board.

2. The criteria is however relaxed for SC/ ST category to 65% aggregate marks.
3. Also applicants date of birth should be falking on or after 1st October, 1993 to qualify for JEE exams.

One can give improvement exam for Class 12th exams in any one or more fhan one subject of his / her choice such that the total aggregate score is 75% or above to qualify for all NITs IIITs and IITs.
Candidate can choose subject of choice or subjects where they have failed to pass.

Candidate is given only one chance for improvement exam in succeeding year.

If you want to take up Engineering this year you can go for other Engineering colleges apart from NIT, IIITs where criteria is relaxed for class12th board.
Some top colleges include  KJSOMAIYA, VIT Pune, ICT Mumbai, MIT Pune, Vidyalankar Mumbai, Symbiosis Pune.
