If you scored 287 marks in NEET 2025 and belong to the OBC-NCL category, it will be very difficult to get admission in a government BAMS college. Most government BAMS colleges need at least 450 to 500 marks for OBC category students.

With 287 marks, your chances are better in private BAMS colleges. Some private colleges may accept students with marks between 250 and 380, especially under the management quota or in states with lower competition.

So, you may not get a government seat, but you can still try for admission in private BAMS colleges. Make sure to check counselling options and cutoffs for your state.

Hello!

So according to your marks in NEET 2025 it is difficult for you to get a seat in government BAMS college as their cutt offs go higher around 370-450 marks even for OBC NCL category.

You can try in some private BAMS colleges in states like Uttar Pradesh,Madhya Pradesh,Bihar or other states where cutt offs go little lower.

Good afternoon. with a NEET score of 287 and belonging to the OBC-NCL category, your chances of getting a BAMS seat are possible, but mostly in private colleges or less competitive government colleges during later counselling rounds.

What Your Score Means

Top Government Colleges    Unlikely   Require 450–550+ for OBC-NCL

Mid-tier Government Colleges    Low Chance    May accept 350–400+ in mop-up rounds

Private Colleges     Good Chance    Many accept 250–350+ scores for OBC-NCL

Apply in state counselling for Maharashtra, UP, and Karnataka

Target private AYUSH colleges with good infrastructure and internship support

Watch for mop-up rounds, where cutoffs drop significantly

Consider management quota if budget allows

Government BAMS admission is unlikely with 287 marks, as most require upto 430 marks for OBC category.

However, you can receive a seat in private BAMS colleges via state or All India counseling, particularly those accepting lower NEET scores.

Be proactive—enroll in AYUSH counselling and keep options open for private institute seats.
