You can get direct second-year electrical engineering admission with 85% marks from polytechnic. This is called lateral entry, where the eligibility criteria is a minimum of 60% marks in polytechnic, and if you fall for this category, you can take the lateral entry exam. Based on this exam's merit, you can choose a college. If you choose a government college, you need the exam, but in the case of a private college, you don't need the exam.
