Well see what you are saying is that you have got 9.73 cgpa marks in your 12th well, it is not bad . So considering your marks you should know that you need to get above 70 % marks in 12th after that vit will finalise a merit list based  on the aggregate of pcm . then according to it you wil get a seat. I think that you might get a seat in category 1.
