As you should know that Compartments are for those student who get fail in one or two exam in thier boards.

As in your case as you want to gain more mark in one subject then you can go for improvement exam .

As improvements  provide you the choice to you to improve your marks . 

Note:

They will consider the higher marks you get from your board exam score or improvement exam score.
