Yes. You can write JEE Advanced even after joining any engineering college in 1st year.
You are eligible to write JEE Mains for 3 consecutive years including the year of passing your class 12th.
Also you can write JEE Advanced for 3 consecutive years including the year of passing your class 12th. So if you have passed your class 12th in 2020, then you are eligible to write JEE Advanced in 2020 and 2021.

If you are aiming for JEE Advanced 2021, then you should have compulsorily passed JEE Main 2021. It is also necessary for you to be among the top 2,50,000 candidates.

This year JEE Advanced is scheduled to be on 3rd October 2021. So if you are preparing for it then put your maximum efforts and score well in it.

Here are some of the eligibility criteria for candidates to appear for the jee advanced examination-

1. Every candidate has 3 options to appear for JEE mains examinations which are basically the year in which he has passed his class 12th, followed by the next two consecutive years.

2. For the JEE advanced examination the candidate has chances to appear which is the year in which he has passed the class 12th examination followed by the next consecutive year.
