An optometry is a primary health care profession that involves treatment of visual problems, diagnosis and management of eye diseases. After doing a four year degree in Bachelors of Optometry, a person can do a job in hospital on the post of an optometrist or can go for further studies like Masters of Optometry, fellowship and PhD. There are fellowship courses in contact lenses, ocular prosthesis (ocularist), low vision, pediatric optometry, neuro-optometry, binocular vision and vision therapy. In hospitals, Optometrists are the frontline service providers. An optometrist can do job in various companies like Lenskart , Titan Eye Plus, Vision Rx, CooperVision, Bausch + lomb, Alcon, Johnson & Johnson, etc which provide high salary package. There is also an option of business by opening own clinic or optical shop.
