Hello Aspirant,

You can open a lab after your diploma but there are certain restrictions. You can evaluate a sample, and document it but can't sign on a patient's report alone. You can assign a pathologist to carry out a lab, but he or she must be enrolled under the Medical Council of your state and the Medical Council of India. Aspirants with an M.Sc in Pathology or Medical Microbiology or Medical Biochemistry with at least three years of practice or laboratory work experience can administer medical examinations and sign test records. M.Sc in Pathology or Medical Microbiology or Medical Biochemistry from an acknowledged university or institution with three years of practice working background in a Medical Diagnostic Laboratory in a government or acknowledged medical academy or hospital or establishment is authorized to administer the examinations and sign test records.

I hope it helps.
