If you mean without any classes by self study then yes you can but you have to be honest with yourself. The main thing which you need is to study concepts, solve numerical by taking guidance at first then later on solving yourself at same time learing why that problem is solved in that way. why not other way. There will be numericals which can be solved through small tricks. you can use those too but keeping in mind that you are 100% sure that this way is correct else follow the steps to solve it.

Tricks are used to save time and get the answer quickly using some shortcut methods but it can be risky too if you get wrong answer.

For any way you need to practice and have to solve lots of problems numericals and previous year papers to know questions are asked.  If you will do it alone then you have to do it proactively as you won't get motivted by an environment unless you stay in an environment where all are try to do the same work to qualify the test. This provides you a competitive environment to learn more and more. If you do it yourself then you won't get this. for this you have to motivate yourself for it.

and focus only on the studies and take guidance from whereever you like There are online videos too which makes you learn concepts and solve the problems. You can use it to learn too.
