There is no way that you can write the exam for kvpy fellowship during any year of b.tech be it the first or not. It is only possible for those who are in the sciences stream. In fact you have only one attempt this kvpy exam. Hope this is useful for you.

No, you cannot write KVPY when you are studying B.Tech. There are two categories and you must fit in any one of them to be able to write the examination

• SX stream -> Students enrolled in XII standard / (+2) during the academic year 2019-20
• SB stream -> Students enrolled in the 1st Year of an undergraduate program in sciences (B.Sc./B.S./ B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) during the academic year 2019-20 and must have minimum scored 60 % aggregate in science subject (physics/chemistry/Biology)

I don't think so they allow first-year B.Tech students to sit for the exam as it's only for students who are in the first year of Basic Sciences namely Physics /Chemistry/Maths and Biology leading to B.Sc/B.S/B.Stat/B.Math./B.Stat./Int.M.Sc/M.S.

Hey Aspirant !

I am sorry to inform, but you won't be elligible to appear for the KVPY Exam being a 1st year B.Tech Student.



Since Class 11th and 12th aren't in your choices, hence the only probable case was, you had to be a student of any of the recognized college pursuing B.Sc. and that too being a 1st year candidate.
