Hi Chindi Ravi

I think you're talking about JEE Main, and not CAT. If you're asking about joining an SFTI, yes you can join using your JEE Main rank. But, that counselling is done by CSAB and not JoSAA. It will be conducted after all rounds of JoSAA counselling is over. Please read this article for more details. -

Thanks. By getting a seat allotted in college, after studying 4 years and passing BE, can one apply for GATE exam?

Hai Chindi Ravi.You can apply for GATE after pursuing BE degree, from any engineering college.
