You have about one month and a couple of days to XAT. If you haven't already prepared, or don't have your basics clear, then it is probably too less a time to crack XAT with a good score. However, I would recommend you still appear for the test for the sake of exposure and get a fell of the test. This would help you be better prepared for the test. Section wise preparation tips for XAT 2018 :-

Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation Practice is the one and only way to crack this section. If Quant and DI is among your strong areas, all you need to do is to practice. If it is your weak point, you need to first clear your basics and select few important topics which you are confident about and go ahead with them.

Verbal and Logical Ability Reading and practising is the key to success for this section. XAT gives high weight on the vocabulary areas and the Reading Comprehension questions are mostly inference based.

Decision Making Decision Making is a section which is unique to XAT. Like other sections, practising past years question papers and mock tests will help you obtain a grip over the area. The main trick to solve the questions in this section is to have good reading speed.

General Knowledge In XAT the topics from which the General Knowledge questions appear include Business, Sports, Economy, Politics, Trade and International Bodies.

Essay For the Essay section, you will be given a separate paper and 20 minutes duration. Your essay should be of 200 to 300 words. Your essay will be evaluated on the basis of language skills, thought process etc.

Let's be practical it is not easy to crack XAT in 30 days period but it is not impossible either. With utter dedication and will anyone can crack XAT or any other exam.

Here are some of my tips for XAT -

1. First, try to improve your basics of quantitative aptitude, Data Interpretation , Logical Reasoning and Verbal ability.
2. Once the topics are covered in a decent manner, next step is to practice. Try to solve question by your own using any of the book available in market like R.S Aggarwal , R.D Sharma and Arihant Publications or any other depending on your choice and usage.
3. Give mocks regularly atleast 2 in week and increase it with the days.
4. Only giving mocks will not help at all. You need to analyze your strength and weakness throughout the mock and try to rectify your errors.
5. Analyzing mocks is more important than giving ample of mocks.Read 2 to 3 articles a day on different Topics there are many good websites which gives a ample of stuff with different varieties of topics.
6. Work on your reading speed 150 words per min must be maintained at least and try to find obscure words in a passage or article and make a list of it and try to remember and learn them. You can use many techniques like using those words in your daily use or you can also use mnemonics to remember.
7. Make your own time table or schedule plans and stick to it judiciously.While preparing D.I make sure you know all the shortcuts by heart using Ayurvedic maths and other shortcut concept and tricks while solving D.I and L.R section time frame is mainly important as you need to do a lot of calculation within seconds or maximum a minute.
8. Keep yourself updated with social events and worldwide happening try to read and explore as much as you can. Reading of articles on philosophy, sociology, psychology, history, art, culture, literature,science and technology, economy and business is recommended.
9. Reading Comprehension is one of the most climacteric part of V.R. Make sure you are comfortable with it , if not ! Practice. Practice is the only key to achieve success in RC’s.
10. Try to be aware of all the current affairs you can refer manorama for static g.k and internet for dynamic approach.
11. There was a saying in my institute that XAT hurdle is verbal , ie. Verbal section is slightly tougher than any other exam. There is no stats for this but I felt this too.
12. Last but not the least !! Keep yourself Motivated and kindle your zeal to achieve your dream
