In order to join a merchant navy course, you must have the physical fitness and medical requirements that are necessary to have a career on ships.

2.Skeletal system

3.Ear, nose and throat

4.Speech 

5.Respiratory system

6.Skin

7. Nervous system

8.Eyesight

Other than physical observation, 

Various numbers of Clinical Tests are carried out to make sure that all the Standards are met.

Complete Blood Count (Hb, TWBC, ESR);

Routine Urine(Albumin, sugar and microscopic);

Blood Sugar;

Audiometry;

Vision Test (Distant, Near, Colour);

X-ray of Chest; and

Electrocardiogram (ECG).
