Hii,

Getting a high school diploma or GED is the minimum formal education requirement for most police officers .

Many law enforcement organizations may require or prefer applicants with a bachelor's degree , associate's degree or a certain number of postsecondary education credits.

But if you want to become IPS then

It is not possible to become an IPS Officer right after completing 12th standard.

In order to become an IPS Officer, you must apply for CSE exam conducted by the UPSC. You must also crack the exam (preliminary, mains and interview) in order to get selected for the training.

Police Rank in States  post wise

  1. Director General of Police (DGP)
  2. Additional Director General Of Police (ADGP)
  3. Inspector General Of Police / Special Inspector General Of Police (IGP/SIGP)
  4. Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIGP)
  5. Superintendent of Police /Deputy Commissioner Of Police (SP/DCP)

Hope this will help you,

All the very best!!
