Caste certificates is of top priority, especially if you are looking for achieving a seat through quota or reservation.

Therefore, I would rather suggest you to re-apply for the caste certificate. Sometimes, getting hold of new caste certificate is time consuming and you may not be able to retrieve it in time. So what you can do is take the receipt of new caste certificate from Jan Seva Kendra of region along with the old caste certificate. This is the only way I see now. It worked for my cousin brother.
