CGC is a very good place with positive environment and is best known for its placement. CGC is best college in north India. CGC have 2 colleges i.e 1 in landran and other in jhanjheri. In landran campus, there are 2 sub colleges i.e. CEC (CHANDIGARH ENGINEERING COLLEGE) and COE (COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING) and have many different branches like HOTEL MANAGEMENT, CHANDIGARH BUSINESS SCHOOL, PHARMACY etc.

The hostels are very neat and the students are very friendly. You don't feel like missing home. But the wardens in girls hostel are very strict. You cannot go out of college without the permission of warden. Even if you wanted to go home you have to take permission and the wardens even call your parents to ensure that you are going home. You cannot go outside college even if there is emergency. This happens only in girls hostel. Boys are free to go anywhere and they don't have to take permission. Girls can't wear shorts outside hostel but boys can. The timing in summer to come inside college is 6:30 pm but this rule is only for girls. The worst thing about college is the girls hostel rules.

There are a lot of canteens in the college. Also many shops in campus which are famous for patties, cholle bhature, Maggie, pasta, different types of samosa and many more. Subway and CCD are also there in campus. Also outside campus there are soo many different shops with unique specialty. Other college students came outside our college for the food and internally wish to be a part of this CGC group.

They make a group of pre-placement preparation so that you can easily prepared for your favorite company. . When the companies came they have different criteria i.e. 80%, 70%, 60%. Companies like MICROSOFT, DELLOITTE, AMAZONE, WIPRO, COGNIZENT, HCL, IBM, HYUNDAI, MARUTI and around 250 companies came for placements. If you want a good job then you have to brush up your knowledge in one computer programming language atleast ( for CSE, IT). The teachers help you in making projects, also they gives you extra classes for group discussions, HR. The teachers gave you the placements papers of specific companies and made every week fix for 1 company specific question papers and modules. I am a student of CEC, IT department.
