NTSE is no more conducted for standard 8 grade students. It used to be way back in 2008. Now the NTSE is only for 10th standard students

It is also known as the National Talent Search Examination, and it is an annual national-level examination administered by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) with the purpose of awarding scholarships to deserving students studying in the tenth grade.

One of the goals of the programme is to discover and develop the talents of gifted kids. It encompasses disciplines such as science, social science, engineering, medicine, management, and law, among others.
The NTSE 2021 stage 1 examination was held on December 12, 2020, for Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, on December 19, 2020, for Punjab and some of the remaining states and UTs, on December 27, 2020, for Jammu and Kashmir, on January 3, 2021, for Odisha, on January 17, 2020, for West Bengal, on January 24, 2020, for Bihar, Kerala, and Karnataka, and on February 21, 2020,
