There is considerably more evidence for transitive nouns and adjectives in epics than in Vedic prose, but compared to Rigveda, transitive nouns and adjectives are even less common and show less morphological variety. The genuine development of the Sanskrit drama has in the true sense ceased, except that its few elements are still in practice.
