Today being Monday, we might actually be able to hear something officially about NEET. These decisions need to be taken after taking lot of things into consideration. For now we only know that CBSE and ICSE exams have been cancelled. The latest information that we have is that CBSE exams have been cancelled. The CBSE exams that have been scheduled for July 1st to 5th have been cancelled as per CBSE's decision. The same has been conveyed to the Supreme Court as well. Students have an option to appear in the examination only if they wish to. But if they do not wish to appear for the examination, then their performance in the last 2 examinations will be considered to grant them marks. And CBSE informed the Supreme Court its assessment scheme. According to that, those students who have completed all their CBSE exams will be assessed based on their performance in the exams. Those who appeared for more than 3 or more subjects the average of the marks secured in the best of the 3 will be given to those subjects for which exams have not been conducted. And those students who have written just 1 or 2 subjects, the results will be declared on the basis of their internal, practical or project assessments for the subjects they haven't written the examinations. And if students want to appear for the exams, they can do so when they are conducted. ICSE might have a slightly changed model and Supreme Court has agreed to that. And amid all this the Centre has not taken any decision regarding NEET and JEE Mains scheduled for July. So we still need to wait to hear from them.
