Could you suggest a few good books for CAT preparation for beginners which is effective?

CAT is a fairly logical exam which requires one to be clear about basic concepts and logical thinking. With enough practice, one should be able to ace the exam with no difficulty.

Below are some books which can be referred to for preparation in each section-

Verbal Ability

1. Word Power Made Easy - Norman Lewis

Do this book cover to cover and you should be in a position to understand hundreds of new words with ease

2. Mastering the Verbal Ability for CAT - Ajay Singh

This book contains ample number of passages to practice daily

3. How to Prepare for Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension for the CAT - Arun Sharma and Meenakshi Upadhyay

CAT refers to the Common Admission Test which is an online examination held each year by one of the Top IIMs inorder to get admission into the Indian institute of Management (IIM), and several others top MBA colleges (including some foreign colleges) too which accept the CAT score.
