Since you have mentioned M. Tech so I guess you mean the conselling process of GATE for

M. Tech.

GATE does not conduct a centralized counseling process.

Admission into IITs and IISC Bangalore is done on the basis of GATE 2019 scores.

M.Tech admissions into NITs, IIITs and CFTIs are also done through GATE.

However, some IITs do offer direct M.Tech admission if the candidates have completed B.Tech degree from an IIT with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10).

Some IITs may also conduct a written test or interview according to the department they are applying for.
