CSE teaches more about how computers work and is good if you like learning theory or want to do research, while Software Engineering focuses on building apps and coding, so it's better if you want to start working in software quickly.

If you’re after lots of options, Computer Science Engineering is the way to go. You’ll dive into programming, systems, networks, algorithms, and even some hardware basics. That opens doors to all kinds of jobs — development, data, security, system roles, you name it. On the other hand, Software Engineering goes straight for what it says on the tin: designing, building, and keeping software up and running. It’s perfect if you know you’re all about software development and want to focus on that from the start. So, if you want a broad base and plenty of career choices, go for Computer Science Engineering. But if you’re set on making software, Software Engineering makes more sense.
