Yes, you can attempt entrance test for NIFT while appearing in 10+2th board examination. But you have to fulfill all other criteria. And at time of  admission you have to produce marksheet before prescribed date.

     No you can only give the nift exam after you complete class 12th because they ask for class 12th marks and that you require result of 12th and its a graduation coarse so thats why. All the best!
