Dear aspirant,

The cut off for mechanical department generally depends on the state, institutions, courses ,the category the students belongs to and the specific entrance exams . For IIT admissions through JEE (Advanced), the closing ranks for Mechanical Engineering can range from around 3,600 to 12,000 for the general category students depending on the specific IITs. For reserved category the cut off is slightly lowe. On the other hand the GATE cutoff for Mechanical Engineering (ME) is typically around 28-35 for the General category and lower for reserved categories. NITs also have different cutoffs for Mechanical Engineering. It's better to check your preferred institution's official website for accurate information.
