Well, I am scared but the minimum eligibility criteria for appearing in MAT is to pass the graduation with 50% for general category and a relaxation of 5% is given to SC/St category applicants. But ask your friend not to feel disheartened because marks can never stop a person from searching and exploring new avenues in life. Your friend can take up a number of certification courses like SAS, SAP,  or certain other similar certifications in any field your friend finds particular interest in. Moreover, if he/she wants then can even try for Post graduate degree from a distance learning program or a near-by University or institute. Options are never-ending. It's just that your friend needs to explore them and not boggle down because of certain numerical evaluations.
